Exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles released by cells and are regarded as an innovative tool in aesthetic medicine. They carry growth factors, proteins, lipids and genetic material that act as “biological messengers”, able to communicate with other cells and help steer them towards tissue repair, inflammation modulation and overall skin rejuvenation.
In aesthetic practice, exosomes may be used to stimulate skin regeneration, improve texture, radiance and firmness, and support the healing phase following more intensive procedures such as laser treatments, chemical peels or microneedling. They can be delivered through superficial micro-injections, similar to biostimulation, or applied as a serum immediately after procedures that increase skin permeability, thereby enhancing their penetration.
