Dermal fillers are aesthetic medical treatments using resorbable, biocompatible injectable substances, mainly hyaluronic acid and other volumising and biostimulating materials. They are used to restore facial volume, soften lines and folds, and improve skin hydration and firmness in a natural-looking way.
They work in two ways: an immediate filling and support effect from the injected product, and a progressive biostimulating effect, encouraging collagen and elastin production and gradually improving skin quality. Main indications include reshaping cheeks, lips and chin, correcting wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds or barcode lines around the mouth), and improving selected acne scars. Results are visible shortly after the procedure and typically last from 3 to 12 months, depending on the product used, the treated area and the patient’s lifestyle.
