Acne is an inflammatory skin disease that mainly affects the face, but can also involve the back and chest, with more or less inflammatory and scarring patterns. It particularly affects adolescence, with a strong aesthetic and emotional impact.
It can have a polymorphic appearance and a chronic–relapsing course. It is often linked to hormonal and/or endocrinological imbalances, which must always be assessed with targeted tests and multidisciplinary specialist consultations.
The main types of acne are:
Juvenile acne • Comedonal acne • Papular acne • Rosacea acne • Nodulocystic acne
